Serj Tankian

Serj was born and spent his younger years in Lebanon. His family later moved to Los Angeles. In the early 90's Serj met Daron Malakian and formed a band named System of a Down. System of a Down enjoyed ten years of wide success, and the band went on hiatus in 2006. Since then, Serj has released his own album titled Elect the Dead. Serj played most of the instruments on the CD himself since he knows how to play almost everything. About System of a Down's hiatus, Serj has said, "Every few months I am honored to hear interesting rumors about whether the band is going to tour or break up permanently. I find them all to be very entertaining."
